Just about every one of my friends seems to be making their way to Target to make the biggest decision of their lives, what to buy off the registry. Blenders, napkin rings, and overpriced china, tired of buying off the registry, me too? Well take a look at these great decorative wall decals. Derek has been making these for all of our newlywed friends. They make a great addition to any room.
We have also been working on some nursery graphics. I am so happy to be offering a gift to my friends other than an unnecessary, state of the art, baby gadget. As always, everything is custom, please send any inquiries over to me, Joanna@stylishstatements.com. Happy decorating!

Coming Soon

Thursday night is no doubt the best night of television, but I thought I should take a moment between The Big Bang Theory and Grey’s Anatomy to update you all on the happenings here at Stylish Statements. Although we will be up North for Thanksgiving, I have started making some seasonal blocks for our mantel. They are turning out great and I can’t wait to get some pictures up. The blocks are a great office or holiday host gift or even perfect to add something personal to your Christmas décor.

Earlier in the week I also made a tin wall hanging for my friend Jackie. She found a quote that she loved and I found the perfect palette for her rustic kitchen. The hanging reads, “A house is built of bricks and beams; a home is built of love and dreams.”

Pictures of both projects should be up this weekend. Happy decorating!

It's official our jacks o' lanterns are off with this weeks trash. The only thing remaining in our bowl of candy is a crunch bar and a wrapper. The evening air is as cool as it gets in Southern California; Fall is in full force. My husband Derek and I are busy making Thanksgiving plans and starting our Christmas shopping. In the midst of the quiet before the storm, that is the holidays we were invited to our friend Brooklyn's birthday party. It might be important to know that our guest of honor is turning a ripe old age of 2. Her mom Stephanie did an amazing job coming up with an adorable theme and we were able to make a contribution to both the party and Brooklyn's play room, by making an owl themed wallscape. Take a look at how great this turned out. Happy decorating!

And so it begins...

It's my first day on the job and I couldn't be more thrilled. Okay, okay so technically I am sitting in the midst of our graphics room in my pjs writing my very first blog for Stylish Statements. Not exactly bad working conditions considering my bedroom is five feet away. But before I get started I want thank my friend Katie at The Polka Dot Pig for my fabulous blog design. She definitely has an eye for style. Thanks Katie!

Well here it goes... Finding time in my busy schedule of a 40+ hour work week, a 32 year old child that is my husband, and a two year old chocolate lab is no doubt going to be difficult but so be it. I'm up for a challenge. I hope you enjoy what I will posting over the next few days. Happy decorating!
